What exactly am I buying?

When you buy a BeatBlocs beat file, you are NOT obtaining OWNERSHIP of the beat - you are in fact purchasing a LICENSE to use the beat within your musical compositions, whether or not your compositions are released commercially. The license is non-transferable, so if you are using an illegal copy of the BeatBlocs beat (ie. have not bought it from the site), you are not authorised to use it. The original producer of the beat will always remain the OWNER of the beat.

How can I use the sounds?

Unless stated otherwise in the producer profile, you may use the BeatBlocs beat in combination with other sounds within your musical compositions. In this case, you may release such compositions commercially without payment of any further fees or royalties for such usage. However, some of our producers may have particular conditions (such as wishing to be credited on the album sleeve, for example), so we request that you contact the original producer through the site before your composition is released commercially. You cannot use the beats in isolation (i.e. when not within musical compositions) as part of a commercially released project - for instance you cannot use the sounds to make a sample CD or multimedia sound library CD-ROM.

Who else can use the BeatBlocs that I have purchased?

Nobody, unless they also purchased the same BeatBlocs from the website. Only the ORIGINAL PURCHASER of the beat has the right to use the sounds commercially. This means that you CANNOT SELL or give the beats to anyone else. If you do, and they use the sounds within a commercial release, they will have to pay royalties to BeatBlocs for using the sounds.
